Martha Belury, PhD and Professor of Human Nutrition at Ohio State University, recommends increasing intake of oils rich in omega-3 fats, found in canola oil. Canola oil is listed as a best oil for its ability to help lower cholesterol and prevent heart disease. “There’s definitely a place for healthy oils in a good diet,” said Belury.
