Emphasize Plant-Based Fats
The debate on healthy fats persists. In response to recent reports that saturated fat won't "clog the arteries," University of Ottawa registered dietitian Kathleen Turner replies in a CBC report, "not so fast." To make better-informed decisions, says Turner, look at product nutrition labels for unsaturated, plant-based fats, such as canola oil.
Dr. David Samadi, chairman of urology at Lenox Hill Hospital, would agree. Writing in the Huffington Post, Samadi states that choosing more plant-based foods, including healthy fats like those found in canola oil, nuts, and seeds, can reduce a man's risk of prostate disease.
