DHA-Rich Canola Oil
As reported in FoodDive.com, the U.S. Department of Agriculture recently approved seed company Nuseed’s proprietary omega-3 canola for cultivation in the United States. Other seed companies are expected to follow with their own canola varieties. The seeds are rich in docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) at levels similar to those found in fish. Nuseed hopes to gain regulatory approval in the near future from the U.S. Food and Drug Association for human consumption of the oil produced from the seeds.
