The Low-down on Low-Carb vs. Low-Fat Diets

An article in Women’s Health reports how excess carbohydrates, rather than fats, may contribute to cardiovascular disease (CVD), pointing to a study published in the prestigious medical journal The Lancet. Registered dietitian nutritionist and CanolaInfo spokesperson Karen Ansel, pictured above, states in the article that CVD risk can be greatly reduced by “cutting some of those carbs and replacing them with healthy fats from foods like canola oil.”
